That being said, it turns out I am just not very productive after I get home during the week.
I only added one more beaded bead, an Empress Bead- I still love this pattern:

And I had additional Blue Eye Beads, which I wired together with other beads to make compound links:

When I put this necklace together, I created 4 piles:
1) Beaded Beads
2) Simple Compound Beads
3) Blue Eye Compound Beads
4) Blue Eye Capped Beads (from last week)
I then created a randomly generated list using those numbers and that is how I put together the necklace.
I will be home this week, after 8 weeks away for training. I have 5 tutorials! I was a very lucky winner of a contest by Callie of The Peregrine Beader and won three, yes 3, tutorials. I can't wait to start a new project.
KJ, the necklace, with so many beads and at 96 inches in length, is very impressive. It is also quite gorgeous. Any beader can understand the amount of time and effort that went into creating this magnificent piece. Bravo on an absolutely amazing job.

Thank you. It just kept growing. It was a great project for a trip because there were many individual pieces, easily picked up and put aside.
DeleteYour Mom really sparked a masterpiece! What a fantastic collection of beads -- each so finely detailed. Love the beaded beads, the bezeled treasures, and how you've assembled them with those occasional touches of sparkle. Magnificiently done!

Thank you. I have been sitting on those blue eye beads for years, so it is exciting to see it finished. It did turn out to be rather heavy, but not unwearable.

DeleteWow!! It's gorgeous from end to end, and has so much visual interest. What fun this will be to wear -- with this many focal spots, you could wear it in countless ways with a new centerpiece taking the stage every time. Terrific!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Bobbie. I think this will be a great summer necklace- the colors just evoke clear bright blue summer skies. I new centerpiece every time? That would require both a memory of how I wore it the last time and strategic dressing and I seem to be in short supply of each. It is, however, a great show piece for what I can do with beads.

ReplyDeleteThank you. This piece took a long time for the inspiration. The making process was wonderful- lots of small steps, none too repetitive. I expect to enjoy wearing this for many years to come.
